League background
The Surrey Research Park Football League was founded in 1995 by Joe Capelli who worked at the company Kobe. He managed to sign up a few of the companies based around the park and ran the league with a simple spreadsheet and email.
Over the next 4 years he managed to grow the league into two divisions with a cup and shield competition. In 1999 he decided to step down as organsier due to relocation.
The new organiser Scott had a difficult first season which wasn't helped by his requirement to work in the USA for a period. It quickly dawned on him that he would not be able to give it the attention it needed and handed it over to the current organiser Alan Turner.
Alan immediately looked to improve the status of the league and increase competition. This involved creating a web presence, changed the cup format to include a group stage and introduce a player hotshot table.
In 2005 the Junior Cup was introduced to allow teams from lower leagues to compete for silverware. In 2006 the Kings Manor Cup was rebranded to the Champions Cup and the Junior Cup is now for some of those teams that don't qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions Cup.
Along with great trophies, medals and awards were introduced to reward team members. The league continues to be a non-profit organisation keeping costs down with 1 hour games.
In 2010 the league was renamed to SRP Football League.

About the website
The website is now in its fifth revision, each getting more powerful. The fourth revision was completed in just over 2 weeks and was active from 2004 to 2011 - it allowed the organiser and managers access to services that immediately updated the website.
The current website has taken a long time to create mainly due to my lack of motivation and constant redesigns. This website though has been well written and is easier to enhance which is the ultimate goal. Currently the plan is to provide the same but slightly better functionality than what was in revision 4 but with long term goals of major improvements.

Fourth revision
General
The SRP Football League is a non-profit league. All money paid to the league pays towards the total cost of the pitches, medals, trophies and this website. Under no circumstances does the organiser personally gain from fees paid.
