The Surrey Research Park Football league was created in 1995. It consisted of just one small
league of companies based around the Research Park. Soon word got around and more teams started
to join, so a cup competition then a shield competition were added and finally a second division in 1999.
After that season Joe Capelli from the company Kobe decided to step down as organiser and handed it over to Scott from
Electronic Arts, but during that season the league was disorganised with lack of communication due to Scott's busy
workload and the fact that he was sent to America. Scott decided to step down after just one season and handed it
to current organiser Alan Turner in 2000.
Alan immediately set about changing the league by creating it's own website and converting the Shield into a Champions
League format. One of the major additions was to add competition between players by having the leagues first hotshot table.
The Summer 2005 season saw the introduction of the Junior Cup mainly aimed at teams lower down the leagues.
For the start of the Winter 2006 season the league made several changes to the cup formats, the long established Kings Manor Cup and Park Barn Shield
competitions were replaced by the Champions Cup competition, which also sees the Junior Cup become a Champions Cup runner's up knockout.
The website is now in it's fourth major revision, a host of new features have been added, mainly to improve manager
communication and to increase competition in all areas on the pitch. A fifth more powerful revision is due Summer 2007.

Second and third revisions
The league has consistently grown over the seasons and the current database has over 1100 registered players, 2000 games played and 22900 player statistics in just four and a half years.
