Match Reports
Well, the 2nd game of a tough week ended on another high with a 3-0 title clinching win over NTL. With both sides already promoted after our win over detica on Tuesday both teams knew exactly what was at stake.

As the season has gone on, this team has become more organised and much harder to beat, outlined by the fact that since the 7-2 defeat by Detica on the first day, we have only conceeded 10 goals in the league all season. The cutting edge provided by Matt-s B and C up frint have also meant that although we rarely dominate games form start to finish, we are able to grind the opposition down and run out comfortable winners.

Last night was no exception to this. NTL started brightly and had a majority of possesion but found chances few and far between and Dave was rarely called into action. Slowly we got the pace of the game and Matt be scored his 19th goal of the season wit a fine individual effort. (Having played just 6 games, that-s one hell of a strike rate). The remainder of the first half was an even affair and we went in 1-0 at the break.

NTL clearly felt they deserved more and came at us at the start of the 2nd half, again, our organised defence held firm and we made it 2 nil when Matt C and I reacted quickly from a throw in. NTL kept probing and had a deflected shot hit the bar but that was as close as they came.

Towards the end, NTL-s frustration started to boil over and there were one or two niggly moments but it all came to nothing. With the last kick of the game, Matt C made it 3-0 converting Matt B-s cross.

All in all, it was a good game with both team-s contributing to a pretty eevn match and we look forward to next season-s encounter-s in Div 1(Who knows, it may be the only games either of us get to win!)

Well played to NTL but more importantly, well played to everyone who has played for ACG this season, it-s been a great effort. Who-d have thought that 4 seaon-s ago after we battled it out with Lost Toys for the wooden spoon that we-d have won the Div 2 title.
