It was supplier vs customer at Park Barn last night as The Sports Shop delivered our new kit just before the game. We then went on to pay them by handing out a 3-1 defeat.

We only had the bare 6 for the game and were quite relieved that the Sports Shop were in the same boat. 6 v 6, no subs, I should think there-s a lot of aching bodies this morning.

The game started brightly for us an it wasn-t long before we took the lead through SteveB finshing from close range. That-s how the score stayed up to HT although we felt it should have been more. Their keeper made some fine saves to restrict us to 1-0.

The 2nd half followed a similar pattern to the first, with us always slightly on top and it was a relief when Steve S finished off a good move for 2-0. A hit post, a hit crossbar and some fine saves later it was still 2-0 and then The Sports Shop pulled one back when some slack defending let them in for 2-1. Steve S restored the advantage with his 2nd of the game and that-s how it finsihed.

It think both teams realise that they-re gonna be involved in a relegation scrap so it was good to take 3 points. Well, done to the Sports Shop, who kept going till the end. It was a thoroughly enjoyable game.
