Match Reports

As always a tight well fought game between these two teams. We-ve played each other a lot over the last few years and we always seem to manage to sneak a win but on this occasion neither side could find a winning goal. Both teams created a few chances but neither could make the enough clear cut opportunities needed to get a win. Sports Shop went ahead early on through what has been claimed as on own goal by Steve B. We equalised after a great strike by Matt C with the outside of his right boot. We don-t think Steve B had much confidence in him as all we could hear was a shout of "noooooooo" as he lined up the shot. Sports Shop went ahead again when an uncharacteristic misjudgement from Dave let a tame shot in the near post. It was down to Matt C again to bring us back level with a great run and strike to leave it 2-2 at half time.
Despite both teams best efforts the second half was goalless. We had several opportunities and Chris managed to create himself a couple of chances but we couldn-t find the all important 3rd goal. Defensively we were fairly sound, but lapses let in Sports Shop for a few chances.
We never really seemed to get up to the level of the last couple of weeks, but it was still a decent performance.
