Match Reports
Not the start we were looking for. The first 15 minutes was a bit ponderous with everyone struggling to get their head around playing again. Fury controlled possession and pressed well, but got their reward from a long ball over the top. That was to be a feature of the game!
Andy Clements looked to have recaptured his youth, rolling back the years to slot in an equaliser. The hair stays!
There was good work from new recruits Adrian & Damian, both looking comfortable on the ball and full of running. Unfortunately the rest of the team weren-t supporting them too brilliantly. More fortunately, we managed (somehow) to get in at half time 1-1 and could sort ourselves out.
15 seconds into the second half and we were behind again. 1 misplaced pass in midfield which we didn-t react to and Simon again left with no chance in goal. We were beginning to move the ball better - the final pass was letting us down but we were breaking to good effect.
It stayed that way until the last few minutes. Another long-ball, and another goal conceded. Then we found some form. We pushed forward and got one back through an excellent team move finished off by Damian. Surely the Man of the Match clincher. It looked like we might snatch an unlikely draw when Joe teed himself up in the dying seconds. But it was not to be, which was fair enough as the Fury deserved the points for this one. Overall a fair, well contested game.
A confident start to our league campaign with good movement on the ball leading to several chances, one of which being our first ever goal.well played to wwf-uk for making us feel welcome in the league.the match was rounded off by two further goals by the gaffer with a late consilation by wwf-uk.overall a good start!!
