Match Reports
After coming near the bottom the previous season, the only way is up. We were determined to get this season off on a good footing and what a way to do it, against another games developer, Criterion. We knew it would be a hard game, having being relegated from Division One, we expected Criterion to perhaps be fitter, sharper and more organised and to an extent, that was correct.

Both teams turned out with a full array of subs at their deposal.

The game started off well for us, we controlled the first twenty minutes and Tam managed to squeeze in a goal, which I feel our possession deserved. However, Criterion did have chances but our excellent first half keeper Will managed to keep out the opposition.

The second half was a different story altogether. We knew Criterion would come at us and they did, with aplomb. A valiant defensive display by Joel and Cannon, and great work ethic and chasing down by the rest of the team, meant we were able to keep their shots to a minimum. They did put the ball in the back of our net but it was illegal as there was a quite obvious push on Cannon which clattered him into our second half keeper and our goal!

While I?ve mentioned names of a few players, it would be wrong to ignore the overall team effort. Everyone played their part, be it man marking, chasing the ball down or trying to catch Criterion on the counter-attack.

Hopefully the three points will give us a bit more confidence so we don?t just sit back as much if we take the lead.

Good game Criterion, look forward to our next fixture.
