So another win for the ageing alcoholics, a decent one this time too. We always have tight niggly games with Sopheon and last night was certainly snice-n-tight but without the niggles, a bit like my sex life. Both teams played some good stuff last night and the first half was very even, sharing 2 goals each.

2nd half and we ran away with it really, I believe going 7-2 up before a late rally from Sopheon with 3 quick goals in succession bringing them back into contention with 5 mins to play. We then hit them with 2 late goals on the break giving us a 9-5 comfortable win in the end.

Congratulations to Wes on his debut, my entire budget of 4 pounds was spent on signing him and looks a decent acquisition. Also a special mention to Ian for not throwing any donkey punches or biting anyone against Sopheon for once. In fact, the game was totally niggle and handbags free so 10/10 for fair play.

Thanks Al, Toby and Co and see you later in the season.

Played 2, won 2, let-s keep it erect.
First game of the new season and looking at the league its going to be a tough one too!

Last season we sat near the bottom until a last minute surge saw us end up second (again!).

We were hoping to get off to a good start but unfortunately we are like an old car... cold and difficult to get going at first but runs like a dream once you get going.

To be honest the scoreline was a bit harsh on us as we played some great football at times and hit the post twice, missing a couple of glorious chances too.

First half was tight and I think we should have gone in with the lead as at 2-1 up we missed 3 great chances... Rogues had chances too but most were down the throat of Dazza who collected comfortably. Unfortunately a great finish by Frenchy saw them level just before the break.

The second didn-t start off too well as we struggled to get going. Personally I think our substitions struggled and it let Rogues take a few chances. They were much more accurate with their shooting which ultimately made the difference.

At 6-2 down it was looking very glum, but we stuck Timmy P back in the middle and managed to pressure Rogues back to 6-4. Unfortunately a lack of concentration allowed them to instantly hit back at 7-4 which sort of deflated our comeback aspirations!

We got another back at 7-5 but with 3 minutes to go it was looking very unlikely. Having to go all out for it we got exposed and they secured the result at 9-5.

A great game of football with no niggles for a change.. I think after this performance we should definately be in with a chance and I feel this season no team is going to run away with it...
