WWF-UK 9 - 2 Codies

Better. A good result and some decent football was played last night by the Pandas. Slick passing, movement off the ball and a determination to win the ball back framed a convincing win. It-s pretty difficult to pick a Man-of-the Match for this one as everyone played their part. Hugh went in goal despite an injured hand, and pulled off a tremendous double save in the second half after being unlucky to concede in the first, the ball squirming inexorably over the line under his long legs.
Joe was immense at the back, marshalling the line and playing incisive balls through for the forwards to run on to. And run they did. Tim scored his standard 5 goals. He could have had twice as many. Andy scored 2, and was unlucky not to finish with at least a hat-trick.
Adrian controlled things in the middle, pushing the ball about and bringing players into the game. He rounded his display off with his first goal for the Pandas. Iain was his usual self, ghosting past the opposition and creating openings with some clever passing. I don-t think he hit a single bad ball all night. So I reckon he just edges it for the star.
Thanks to the Codies for a game played in good spirit & impeccable fairness. All the best for the rest of the season!
Codies has been having some very turbulent times recently. Injuries, work and other commitments have meant the last two games we have been missing a substantial set of our best players including our two goal keepers. Adding our lack of practise for the very same reasons and we-re in very poor form at the moment.

Hopefully we can get back to normal soon and get back to playing properly.
