After pretty much most of the season so far we started to get a few regulars back into the squad after having drafted in lots of replacements. There are still a few more to come but we had a decent performance which is always a positive.
After a few hammerings because of the above availability we-ve not started this league how we can.
Hopefully onwards and upwards from here on out, however there has been a lot of damage done in our 5 games already so we need to go and rescue our reputation and our form.
Cheers to Lionhead for a very fairly contested game.

A few familiar faces lined up against us for Fidessa, and from that moment we knew that we couldn-t go into this game with an approach based on League position.
As has been the Lions style this season it was a fairly disjointed start with both sides having chances. There was no score until about 10 minutes in, when we managed to hit Fidessa on the counter attack; Millsy defended a corner well with a strong headed clearance which Steve gathered to make it 2 on 1 with Oli powering forward. A through ball was played onto Oli-s right peg (a dreadful decision), fortunately the big man managed to make just enough of a connection that it bobbled in at the near post. An eighth of the Season for the Lions only Striker, a decent return on the half season given his woeful early season form!
Fidessa-s quality up front the proved evident as we quickly lost our lead, a half chance being well finished to make the score 1-1 at half time.
In the second half we again struggled to control the game, Fidessa pressing quickly and a lack of a short option left us with a couple of shaky defensive moments - a funny 5 minutes from Steve not helping one bit as he constantly gave the ball to the opposition. During one of the periods where we did manage to sustain some pressure Steve got his shoes on the right feet again, playing a nice one-two with Rob whose lay-off was perfectly weighted allowing McConnell Jnr to skip through a couple of challenges before slotting home. Unfortunately he undid all of that good work a couple of minutes later by playing a clearance off both of his own goal-posts, leaving Oli completely stranded between the sticks, and the ball falling straight to the Fidessa forward who made no mistake from close range.
Some great energy levels from Adam kept us in this as we felt it slowly slipping away from us, defensively we were becoming nervous and we showed the same anxiety in the final third. Not many shots to speak of in the final 10 minutes for us, a pot-shot from Steve resulted in a rebound which just fell behind Adam, who on the balance of the game probably deserved a goal. This fumble by the keeper obviously buoyed the Lions a little, and in the last couple of minutes Steve took another ill-advised shot from 15 yards, this time it swerved and dipped, but was directed straight at the keeper, fortunately for us it somehow managed to squeeze through his legs to make it 3-2!
A special mention has to go to a dummy played by Brit in the games opening minutes, a great bit of skill which nearly resulted in a goal, been a while since we-ve seen that sort of thing from him!
A good contest in this match, cheers to Fidessa for a very fair game.
