Match Reports

Bit of a struggle for us to pick up where we left off with this one after the World Cup break, though encouragingly we were pretty resolute in defence for the most part.

We opened the scoring when Phil played a nice ball over the top leaving Steve and Ollie two-on-one, the ball was squared first time for Ollie to side foot home and the the scoreline wasn-t troubled again til after the break. A fairly even half with APC closing down and putting pressure on us from the off.

In the second half we held onto the ball a bit more, with Adam performing well in the Goalsweeper role. Goals were added first of all by Chris, a good finish and a second for the season for the player freed from the shackles of management (his best return for a few???). The third was a powerful effort by Phil from the right hand side flying in at the near post.

Glad to get those three points, hopefully 6 more to come from our other two group games! Unfortunately the game was marred slightly for us by a pretty serious injury to Rob, no APC player at fault, just an awkward landing on his knee, hopefully it-s not as bad as it looked.

MoM goes to Dave Mills this week for solid performance at the back. Also don-t remember him losing the ball once and he played a few great forward passes to set up attacks.
