Thanks for the fair game Sparta, have to say that from both sides the game was played in good spirits.
Going into the game with the bare 6, and lacking any strikers it looked like the stars might struggle for goals. We played well, passed the ball well and everyone put their shift in. From the outset our defenders wanted to restrict the "ginger ninja" and they did. Lewis kept a clean sheet too so we played well defensively.
From kick off we started well and got an early goal thanks to Jason. Continuing in the same fashion we went on to grab a few more goals before half time. Starting the second half the Spartans came out strong and gave us a warning early on but the ATI made sure they didn-t slack off and with the arrival of Charles we got some fresh legs to help out. Special mention to Matt who was solid as always, and also to Jason who hardly ever scores but grabbed three on the night, one was particularly sweet, dribbling round a few defenders before slotting home. Also special mention to me as it was my first hat-trick in the research park league.

Not a good night for Sparta after the long break and with some key personnel missing in the shape of a goalkeeper and our two usual midfielders but we turned up and gave it a shot despite the long odds of us getting anything from the game.

It was 100% fair and enjoyable and ATI easily deserved their win and the scoreline. Our sights have always been on the Junior Cup so we will look to bounce back against Barnestoneworth and Dynamo SSTL to try and secure second in the group.
