With half the first choice players unavailable, we went into the game feeling confident because of our current form. Unfortunately it all came crumbling down, and all the hard work from the previous weeks was M.I.A.
Credit goes to LK Dons (How are you only 2nd from bottom in the league with that squad I-ll never know!) because they pressed hard, moved well and completely out passed us. Very simple, but extremely effective football from the Dons left us begging for Mercy.
Luckily we improved ever so slightly in the 2nd half, and managed to scrape two goals from Hoody, but still we got the result we deserved. Nil points.
Let-s hope the weeks rest (I think we need a weeks fitness training!) will stand us in good stead for our final group game against Codies. Any complacency will be met with the toughest decision by the manager.
Congrats to LK for a thoroughly deserved victory, a fair game and good luck for the rest of the league / cup.

Easily the Don-s performance of this, or any, season. Prior to kick off, we had a concern over numbers but both Marks rocked up to ensure that we even had a sub.
New boy Chris, the latest from our new player academy director Mike, slotted straight in and looked very comfortable indeed. Day and Lambert then set about running the midfield. By running, I mean the little chaps didn-t stop all game.
Jackson opened the scoring and Lambert bagged his first before the break. In truth, we had bossed the first half, albeit unexpectedly.
Second half and Fidessa had a point to prove. This wasn-t made any easier by us bagging a third but nerves were jangled when Jedi put on on the postage stamp after running Chris a bit ragged down the line.
Lambert finished off his hattrick but, after dumping the keeper on the ground and only needing to either roll it across the line or lay it off for someone else to do so, he elected to hit the post from about 2 yards out. For that, he dodges the star, which falls neatly into Chris-s lap as he bagged one for himself to cap off a fine debut.
Jedi struck back with another fine finish after leaving both Nader and Trowers stranded but it was all done by then.
Thanks to Fidessa for a great game played in the very best of spirits. We wish them well and all who sail in her.
