Match Reports
Prior to the game, there was a bit of a dilema. A win would see us qualify for the knockout stages - hell, even a draw would probably be enough. A narrow defeat, however, would probably dump us into the Junior Cup and an outside chance of silverware. Thankfully, these Ferarri-like machinations were dashed by an overwhelming spiriti of the Magic Of The Cup and a chacne to properly tilt at glory, maybe even causing an upset or two along the way. LK Dons - the people-s champions.

Team news and it was as you were from the Fidessa game. This seems to be working out as everyone has gotten used to what everyone else is doing. Mark and Mike run around in the midfiled, Jacko does his -get ball, turn man, run at goal, shoot- thing, Trowers, Gill and Nads loiter at the back whilst Jinxy sweeps up.

Short, simple passing was again the key. This allied with some pretty decent movement made for some excellent football. Granted, SSTL seemed to have the most of the possession but it was all up their end. This was reflected in the first half-s shot count with the Dons having most of the chances and indeed a one goal lead.

Second half was more open as SSTL pushed forward. This created gaps at the back and we were finally able to take advantage of a couple of 2 on 1s to forge a 3 goal lead. Then their big lad muscled his way through a multitude of challenges and poked one home. Squeaky bum time was duely entered but another fine breakaway sealed their fate and even a late header that required no goal line technology was enough for the Satelites.

In truth, SSTL looked the better side for retaining the ball whilst failing to capitalise on the possession, but it was a well contested, er... contest with nary a handbag or dodgy challenge in sight. We imagine either SSTL or Fidessa will be joining us in the next round and I think SSTL will shade it due to their all-round squad.

In the meantime, the Mighty Dons march on! Here-s hoping we can retain this team and start bringing this form to the league.
