Sparta Farnham (5) 8-5 (0) Barnstoneworth

What a game. After a very one-sided first half in which we scored 5 and conceded none, we somehow let it slip to 5-5 with 10 mins to go before we luckily got our acts together and saw the game out.

With our fifth different goalkeeper in eight games, things are rather unsettled at the back for Sparta at the moment but at least this week-s keeper looks to be a solid find and hopefully will play more, at least until our first choice keeper is fit again.

Credit to Barnstoneworth for never letting their heads drop and for a hell of a comeback which had nerves jangling for the entire second half. The game was played 100% fairly with only one disputed throw in to speak of.

For Sparta, this will be the first time that we have progressed out of a cup group stage in seven attempts, even if it is only into the junior cup. Hopefully we will get a kind draw in the QF.

Quality game, came back to 5 all, then ran out of puff, lack of players to blame again, bit like waatching newcastle a few seasons ago
